Thanks to the entire team that has created this latest issue of the NAEPC Journal of Estate and Tax Planning. One of NAEPC’s objectives is bring exceptional professional information to our diverse group of multi- disciplinary practitioners in estate planning. This Journal represents one of the resources available to our member councils, Accredited Estate Planner® designees, and the individual practitioners in our field.

Why is it important to continually learn best practices? One reason is the practice of estate planning is constantly changing as our clients and the landscape around us continues to change. As estate planners we get into the messes of our clients’ lives. We are planning for those worst-case scenarios so that the crisis any family faces already have a plan ready to execute to achieve their goals into the future. The information and training I have received over the past 20 plus years have helped me be a better professional serving high net worth as well as all those families who say they are not wealthy, achieve their family’s goals.

This edition of NAEPC Journal of Estate & Tax Planning features all original material from some new and favorite returning authors. The topics include: (please name your favorite 2 or 3). I am confident you will learn something new and/be reminded of information to be used in your practice.

Finally, I look forward to seeing you all at the 2023 Advanced Estate Planning Strategies Conference in Fort Lauderdale. FL November 12th to 16th. This is the best professional conference I attend each year because of the people who attend, the breadth of topics covered and the quality of the speakers. If you want to get up close and personal with the best in the estate planning industry, come and participate in 2 ½ days of education and connection with a select group of multi-disciplinary professionals.

It is an honor to be a part of the Executive Committee of NAEPC. I am currently serving as President-Elect. It is my hope that you, your council and other professionals take advantage and use the resources of NAEPC to increase your expertise and help your council thrive.

Thank you for the honor and opportunity to be of service to the estate planning industry.  Enjoy this July 2023 edition of our Journal of Estate & Tax Planning.

All the Best
